The Fitness of Human Nature

1.        What does Wilson mean by the term "kin selection?" What evolutionary factors have lead people to feel altruistic toward members of their own family?
When Wilson is talking about kin selection he is talking about the extended group of people we hang out with. The people we pick to be around is up to us and we usually pick people that have the same interest in us and have things in common with us. We will share things in common with the person and because of this we will want to be around them.

2.       What are the basic differences in mating strategies between males and females? How are these differences, according to Wilson, led to certain differences between male and female human nature?
The basic differences between men and women in mating strategies is that women know that they cannot reproduce their how life so they will start the mating process as soon as they can so they will be able to reproduce. Men have the physical possibility to reproduce their whole life. When men become fathers they are more physical capacity to inseminate another woman almost immediately. Men look for sex more and make sure that their mate will be able to put up with it where as women look for more of the emotional and make sure that your personalities are right for each other. This has led to certain differences between men and women human natures by men are more physical were as women are more emotional and care about personalities.

3.     Why according to Wilson, are human tribal and territorial? Are these traits that can be altered, or does Wilson present them as inherent parts of our psychological make-up?
According to Wilson humans are tribal and territorial because that want to defend private resources for themselves and their social group pass more genes on to the next generation. Wilson says that these traits will be inherent parts of our psychological make-up because he says that we pass these traits onto our generations. If this is all we know we will teach it you they and it will be passed down to them not only in their traits but also by watching other people actions

4.       What does Wilson say lies behind the human desire to cooperate and make agreements with other human beings? Why do we act altruistically toward people who are not closely related to us and do not therefor carry any of our genes?
What lies behind human desire to cooperate and make agreements with others is that humans have their own pride and do not want to have to set aside their need for that of others they want what they want and tend not to make agreements with the person. We do act altruistically toward people that we do not know because we feel like it does not matter what they have to think and if we hurt them it will not matter to us because they are not close friends will us. This does not carry any of our genes because for each person this could be different some people care more about what people have to say and think about them. Whereas other people do not care what you think about them, so they will say and do anything not worrying about what anyone thinks.
